Behind every business success is a story, full of challenges, economic issues and environmental impact. In 2017, a purchasing manager at Exceldor called on Soudure Plastique Québec, driven by pressing questions on the topics of repair, recycling, and the search for solutions. His quest was clear: to avoid throwing away the broken food containers used daily in their production, while saving money

.Was Soudure Plastique Québec the answer? The answer was a big YES!

However, the challenge was significant: to respect food standards and laws, and to face several constraints. Soudure Plastique Québec was able to meet all these requirements. In addition, SPQ has contributed to a significant reduction in the costs of supplying bins. Together, Exceldor and SPQ have launched an ambitious project: repairing plastic bins to prevent them from ending up in landfills, thus helping to preserve our environment for future generations

.Soudure Plastique Québec has received the necessary certifications to carry out these repairs in the food sector. A space has been set up to process large quantities of bins, and a dedicated team has been set up to effectively manage all stages of this project. Thanks to the commitment and dedication of the SPQ and Exceldor staff, this project has become a reality

.We are now at the beginning of 2025 and we want to celebrate this success! We would like to thank Exceldor for its trust and its proactive initiative. Exceldor has shown respect for the environment by looking for ecological alternatives. Thanks to François Gagnon for his leadership: repairing rather than throwing away is really a solution

.Drum roll! More than 187 containers of 40 cubic yards did not pollute our environment and were not sent to our precious green spaces in Quebec

.Take action, leaders, owners and government officials! It is time to stop being content with speeches and nice promises on our websites. Concrete actions and solutions are needed to significantly reduce our impact on the environment.

Important to know: These bins cannot be recycled, because they contain polyurethane which is used as insulation. Soudure Plastique Québec is the only company to have a global standard for polymer fusion resistance, with repairs certified and registered in an OpenERP since 2012
